Clown car drawer

I went on a decluttering clothing binge after Christmas and then came across clown car drawer.

This tiny little drawer held 81 pairs of socks. How does that even happen??

This led me to post it on facebook and ask everyone to count their socks. It seems that you either are a sock hoarder like me or barely have enough socks to survive. There is no in between.

Maybe I should spend more time cleaning my house...

Instead of decorating the yard, maybe I should clean my house?  The neighbors are starting to look at us funny.  I blame my husband somehow...

the Blogger app

Found out tonight that Blogger now has an app!!  I got excited!  Freakishly excited if I'm confessing honestly. 

The thought that I could blog anytime, anywhere...

I could blog in the night - where things at 3am seem so dramatic and important.  Then I could revel in the inevitable embarrassment the next day reading what I had just published.

I could blog walking down the road - like the other phone walker zombies that inhabit my world.

I could blog while cooking supper...providing my overgrown thumb wouldn't mash the keys rendering my musings intelligible.

I could even blog...in the bathroom.  Gasp.  I know, right?  Who does that? 

I would -  just to say that I did.  Oh and my co-worker...but he just really likes bathrooms for some reason. 

Anyway - I could go on but let's keep this rated G today.  I downloaded that app and found out that it is fantastically craptacular.  Wait until the update if you are considering downloading it.  The screen doesn't scroll when you type so that any post longer than 4 sentences lives in your imagination until you say that you are done and want to re-read it.  Don't even think about clicking the photo icon because if you try and add a photo - it will erase the blog entry you just did!  Gah!

I had to fish out my laptop and share - just in case it saves someone some grief!

Crate & Barrel

I bought this in December when shopping with a friend and co-worker of mine. 

I love Create & Barrel.  We sat in some very expensive chairs and trailed our fingers lovingly along some beautiful furniture.  When I saw these cute cookie cutters I had to buy them to make Christmas cookies with.

One cookie cutter that I haven't been able to find yet is a zombie cookie cutter.  :)

Crafting With Mom...

Last weekend Mom and I tried out my new stamps.  The top 2 are Mom's and the bottom one is mine. For some reason my phone invented the writing on the bottom one.  Weird.  I did one more card but I didn't like how it turned out so I'll wait until I re-do it before posting it here.  I ADORE these stamps.  Have I justified getting more of them yet?  How many times do you have to use 1 stamp to justify its cost?

Those funky stamps!

I have had a couple of people ask me where I bought my oh so cute stamps that I talked about here.

They are Penney Torrente stamps and I bought them online at Running with Scissors Studio located in Victoria, BC.  Their shipping was super fast and very sturdy.

Although I haven't used them yet, I am packing them to bring to my extra long weekend (3.5 days!) October Scrapbook retreat!   Do you think I need more of them before I go?  hmmm....

IntelliTEC "Wash & Brush" timer

I ordered this online from Leaps & Bounds.  I love it!  It keeps the kids on track when brushing their  teeth or washing their hands.  They love hitting the button and watching the light blick on and off.  The light blinks faster and faster as the time runs out.  It has a suction cup to stick wherever you want it too but it also includes screws in case you want to more permanently mount it.

Stamps that I am in love with...

I just received these stamps in the mail and adore them.  I haven't quite figured out what I will use them for yet but I can't wait.  LOL

I feel like I want the whole set now.  Please tell me what I can do with these and give me justification.  LOL

What would we talk about?

What would we talk about in Canada, if it wasn't for the weather?  Weather is what we talk about to the stranger in the elevator.  Weather is what we bring up when we end up in a conversation with someone that we haven't talked to for a while and with someone that we aren't entirely comfortable around.

I was in the car with my husband recently and loaded up the weather app on my phone.  We spent a minute or two laughing at the ridiculous weather this time of year.  One minute it is +10 and then the next day it's snowing and -15.

I have a few other locations saved into my weather app: Osoyoos, BC - because my Aunt/Uncle live there, Vegas - because we are going there again soon and Cancun - for pure torturous reading. As I looked at the Cancun forecast I realized that they are very boring.  5 days of plus 29 and lows of 24.   What do the residents of Cancun bring up for small talk?

Real Tupperware VS. the Competition

This is what happens when you listen to your husband while frantically cleaning house for last minute company and stash your dirty dishes in the oven.  This is what happens when despite reminding each other not to forget that we've done this - we forget.  This is what happens when you forget that you have done this and then turn the oven on a few days later.  This is what happens to Tupperware and Rubbermaid when left in a preheating oven for about 10 minutes....

Ahh tupperware....hot but not bendy.

Lint Can!

I found this at Winners last week and I'm in love...

(Canadian Tire money in there for sizing)  Since we have moved into this house I've had my eye out for a tiny garbage can to put on top of my washing machine for lint.  Yes, I could walk the 20 feet to the bathroom garbage...but I don't.  I put the pile of lint on top of the dryer fully intending to throw it away when I am done transferring the load.  Then I forget and walk away because my memory is THAT bad.  But now...Mwa - ha -ha!!

Cupcakes that Foam...

I went to a craft sale not so long ago.  While I was there I spent $20 to buy 4 cupcakes.  4 bath cupcakes.

I chose the divine looking and smelling flavors of Margarita, Strawberry Dacquiri, Lemon and Orange Vanilla.   They look and smell good enough to eat.  It was such a conflicting feeling.  Smelling the margarita cupcake made me drool and yet - it is for the bath!!

You peel off the plastic (not shown in the photo) and the paper cupcake holder.  Then you simply drop in into the running tub!  It was really bizarre to see a cupcake floating in the tub.

The resulting bath was foamy and great smelling.  These are fun too!  Highly recommended for the ultimate in pampering.  http://smellthesoap.com/
